Timneh Greys

The Timneh is becoming more well known. They have always been overshadowed by their cousin the Congo Grey. They are not as colorful with maroon rather than bright red tails, and little darker in color & smaller in size, but they are no less the pet. I have worked with Greys for over 15 years. Years ago we had the imported "wild caught" birds. Interestingly enough, I found that a lot of times the imported Timnehs were sweeter by disposition than the handfed Congos. I personally prefer them as pets to the Congo. Not to say that one is better, because each bird is different. The timnehs are full of personality! They are just as smart and just as good at talking. I think they are more predictiable than the Congos. I think the Timnehs make wonderful pets and if worked with they can like more than one person in the family.
