I grew up in Ludington, Michigan where I was exposed to various genres of music throughout my childhood. I sang my first solo at the age of 8 and picked up the guitar when I was 12, beginning a love of music and singing that is central to who I am and to where I am going on this journey of life. As far back as I can remember, I have had a passion for singing and songwriting.

In 2000, I recorded my first CD, No Outlet, with the band Strategies, which included friends Blake Healey of Ludington and Niklas Heitmann of Flensburg, Germany. That summer, Nik and I recorded a potential re-release of a 1960s tune called One Way Wind and an Engblade/Heitmann song called Can’t You See. We had the chance to play in several clubs and shows, primarily at a club called Der Kult in Hamburg. When I went back to Germany in 2002, Nik and I again had the chance to team up for serveral performances. Blake Healy, who mixed and recorded the breaking point of youth, and I currently write music together as The Bumout Eternal. We would call it "Nerd Music", but some others may call it Synth Pop, Indie, or Elctonica. I write all of the lyrics and sing, while Blake does most of the music. Recently, Blake's friend Kristy DeMarco has joined forces with us and now sings with me on the project. Even though we think we're dorks, our song "No Harm, No Foul" is a song where I am particually fond of the lyrics. Go check it out!

No Outlet As a solo performer, I play whenever I have the opportunity. Recent home-town performances have included The Cappaucino Cafe and Gringos in Ludington, the Fourth Friday Coffee House in Shelby, the Marina Concert series and the Fish O'Rama in Ludington, and the Dunegrass and Blues Festival in Empire. I'm also a past member of Ludington High School's Show Choir, The Sound Explosion, and West Shore Community College's Show Choir, The Collegiates. I've also played in a few bands in the past. Most recently, with Four Letters Words, which had a short life in the summer of 2003. My most recent shows have been in open mics around my area and a show at DePaul University's open house for the student center. Hopefuly soon the word will spread that a new guy is taking over the windy city!!

Presently, I am living in Chicago, in the Lincoln Park neighborhood, where I am studying Religion and exploring my interest in other vocal music opportunities at DePaul University. I am a member of DePaul Mens Acapella (DMAC), the first ever a capella group at DePaul. I am also in a fraternity, Delta Tau Delta where I spend my efforts being the President of Iota Alpha here at DePaul.

Myspace.com has been a very zesty enterprise. It can be found when you click Here. Go find out what I've been up to...if you dare.

I have been writing new songs, some with my friend Nathan Schlicher, who helped with the art on “the breaking point of youth,” . My album, the breaking point of youth" is a collection of twelve original tunes that were written within the first two years of college. Presently, I have recorded a new EP that I call "LISTEN! -or- Things Left Unsaid". This is a collection of new songs from the last three years or so. I am really excited to get to share my music with you. I hope you enjoy it. It is truely the blood flowing in my veins. Love, Eric Engblade
