Hi Welcome to the Beginner's Basic section of the Highland Golf Tips site. Here you will find the general tips you need to play the game, and a few little extra things too.

The Swing Meter

Lets start first with the swing meter. You must click on it 3 times to complete a swing. The first click will be your back swing, the second will be the force of your swing and the third will be how straight it will go.

This is the picture of a swing meter, the hash marks will be concidered as 25% or 35 yrds, 50% or 65yrds, 75% or 90yrds, and 100% and 130yrds

A straight shot is concidered one that ends where it starts for the points however you get a pretty straight shot if you just click in the red box.

The Wind Meter

The wind meter tells you the strength and direction of the wind during your current shot. Personally I don't worry about the wind, it does not seem to affect me much, but you will get the hang of it. The thing to remember, if its to the north, its against you. If its to the south its behind you and will carry your ball further depending on how high in the air it is. To the east and the west, depends on what side of the hole to click on if its west click east, and if its east click west.

The Ball

The red dots can be placed in different sections on the ball by clicking around the ball, they can be placed on the right, left or very bottom of the ball, on the sides or the right left or middle top, it always starts in the middle though as shown in the diagram.

The Clubs

The clubs are chosen by Haggis but you can change them very simply by clicking on the red arrows in either corner of the club box. Choose your club and off you go.

Well thats about all you need to know to begin the game. Have fun and try it out, and once you have practiced a little bit come back and go through the advanced hole by hole, to find out how to get holes in one eagles and double eagles. We have the best pros at pogo in our room!

Happy Golfing Everyone!!!
