Looking ahead we could see Kaipapa`u Ridge which we would climb. I'm naming ridges using the name of the stream to its left as you look mauka. We did not climb the cliffs you see in the picture but to a low back (which you can see thru the ironwood trees) behind them, much easier and safer and faster.
Before climbing the ridge we had to cross Kokololio Stream, here we climb down to the stream.
