Babies R Us

Brought to you by the store of the same name.
I got to thinking about store names yesterday after visiting Tire Town: If you go to Toys R Us to buy toys, you go to Babies R Us to buy . . . well, babies, right? There's a Babies R Us not far from my 'hood, but I'm afraid to go in there. I'll tell you this, though, every adult I see coming out of the place has a baby in his or her arms, and often a toddler in tow from a previous purchase. Isn't that illegal in this country? I suppose the government has bigger fish to fry at the moment, but still . . . And what ever happened to generating babies the old-fashioned way? I think our instant-gratification consumer culture has gone too far in this instance.
