Devil on Horseback is the name of a recipe involving, I believe, a shrimp flanked on a toothpick or skewer by scallops and wrapped in bacon, or some such thing. Unfortunately, I forgot to bring the book with me this morning, but I'll reproduce the particulars as soon as I remember it. It's probably not a half-bad appetizer if you like seafood. Which I don't. But the name has got to be the best part.
This cookbook is full of colorful recipe names, cuisine both delectable and questionable, and some really interesting cooking instructions. ("You take the dough. You roll it out. You add the nuts.") My favorite excerpt from a list of ingredients: "5 frozen bread."
I plan to devote several days' worth of band names to the cookbook very soon. I'll be attending another science fiction convention over this coming holiday weekend, so we'll have to have another geek week, too. And of course suggestions are always welcome. It's been a long hot summer already, and the Media Sensational inkwell threatens to run dry.
