We're all prey for rain today. Metro traffic slows down even more than usual on rainy days, and rain-related accidents are impeding progress all over town. The same commuting commandos who will drive 80 mph on black ice during the winter can't seem to handle a few raindrops. Rain-grey skies make it hard to wake up in the morning and hard to achieve a mood as sunny as my new yellow shirt. The rain has tracked us down and reminded us who's boss.
But I don't mind too much. The rain means that spring is here and that my lawn will be green in a month or so. It's an excuse to carry a bright umbrella and have flat hair. Rain smells great, washes away the grit and grime of winter and, best of all, provides a free car wash. Rain is good! Pray for rain.
