It wouldn't be summer in Boonville, MO, without Heritage Days. Although Mom and I were a week or so late for most of the festivities, my aunts managed to save us a couple of T-shirts in which to live vicariously.

These same aunts also escorted us to a terrific fireworks display viewed from the bluffs at a local park. As we were packing up to leave after the show, somebody started squirting her relatives with water, and somebody else returned fire, and before you know it there was a full-scale water fight in progress. While no one is certain who was responsible for the outbreak of hose-stilities, a peaceful (if soggy) resolution was eventually achieved.
