Q. When was the Book of Zephaniah written? A. 625 B.C.
Q. Who were Zephaniah's contemporaries? A. Habakkuk, Nahum, Daniel, Ezekiel and Jeremiah.
Q. Who was king at the time? A. Zephaniah 1:1 = Josiah was king in Judah.
Q. What does it mean to be God's child? A. Zephaniah 1:4-6 = Absolute loyalty to God for my life.
Q. How do I follow God correctly? A. Zephaniah 1:4-6 = I must not be under the influence of any other god or idol that claims it can guide and bless me.
Q. Is it possible to be so double-minded? A. Zephaniah 1:5 = Oh yes! People proclaim their loyalty to God and then trust some form of idol worship to guide them. God is Guid and Blesser. Without God, there is NO guidance and NO blessing!
Q. So when folks do both, they are really not following God at all? A. Zephaniah 1:6 = Yes. Idol worship is rebellion against God.
Note: Compromise is such an inocuous word. Get rid of it in your life. If you have any biblical evils that amount to idol worship and idol guidance in your life, you remain far from God, His guidance and His blessing.
Q. What were Israel's infamous idol favorites? A. Zephaniah 1:5 = 1) Molech, which required child sacrifice
2) Worship of the sun, moon and stars.
Note: Molech blessed in exchange for murder; fortunetellers guided in exchange for money. All is a lie. If Satan can get your mind to focus on the things you can see, he will succeed in tearing you apart from God. This is why God's authors scream warnings all through the Scriptures. "Faith is the assurance of things not seen, the conviction of things to come." Following God means He guides, we live by faith in Him to guide us. God assures our very hearts that the best things are still to come. Faith to guide us; conviction that He's got our futures covered.
Faith and conviction cancels fortunetelling (which is a lack of trust in God for my future)
Conviction and faith cancel works (God will bless me without payment of child the life of my child).

Q. What is a mark of a fake believer? A. Zephaniah 1:6 = He once worshiped God, asked Him for His guidance and sought His blessings.
Note: Fake believers sometime tell proudly how they used to be fools for Christ, but turned.
Q. Aren't all people convicted of sin? A. Zephaniah 1:12 = No. They are content in sin, believing God will do nothing at all to them.

4) Upholding justice
5) Doing right.
Q. The earth will be devoured by fire one day. Is there a root in this fire? A. Zephaniah 3:8 = Yes. It is the fire of God's jealousy.
Note: We were all created for God. There are no other gods to choose from.
Q. Is God personable? A. Zephaniah 3:17 = Yes. One day, He will rejoice over me; with His love, he will calm all my fears. He will exult over me by singing a happy song.
Note: Try to fathon God singing to you!
