The CX5400 is supported, but the ink counter can't be reset, but it can be frozen.

Maintenance

Always do a nozzle test before doing a nozzle clean (as the latter uses the results of the first).
Having changes the black cartridge and got problems having not done a nozzle clean, I recommend doing the clean.
4 to 6 nozzle test/nozzle clean cycles seems to have cured my horizontal stripes of no ink.

My Printer Buying Experience

I'm looking at buying a printer. Here are my thoughts.
I'm looking at makes that have 'compatible' ink cartridges which will be cheaper.
That seems to rule out HP & Lexmark.
That leaves Canon & Epson.
Samsung, Brother ?

My current favourite is the Epson Stylus CX5400.
Separate cartridges mean not throwing away a cartridge because one colour is empty.
Also comes with OCR.
