Microsoft Excel Inventory Spreadsheet

I hope you find this useful, and that it saves you a lot of time.

This is my recommendation. Go around the house/garage and garden taking pictures of everything. This will serve two purposes. First you can load them onto your computer, and fill in your inventory while looking at the pictures. Much easier than walking around with a laptop. The pictures will also form proof of what you have, and remind you of details, should you need to claim.

You can download my skeleton Microsoft Excel spreadsheet by click on this: inventoryskeleton.xls

You will find a sheet for each room.
There is also a sheet for entering the current exchange rate.
Then there is the total page, which sums all the sheet totals, and gives you the total amount to insure.

On each room's sheet, you will find two ways to enter an item. You can enter the number of items and the replacement value each, or you can enter the total value.
The error column will tell you if you do both and they are different.

Cheers
Steve
