There are basically three types of movements in KENPO that make the style what it is. The first and most important things are called a "BASICS". Basics are the smallest and (usually) the most simplest movement in Kenpo. Like the atom, basics are the foundation for the rest of the structure. The next step is "TECHNIQUES". Techniques are a combination of "BASICS" that make up a certain response to a specific attack. Lastly, are the "FORMS." (also known as "KATA'S") Forms are a compilation of basics and techniques. Forms are a great way for the martial artist to practice and better him or herself in basics and techniques.
