Hello, my name is Parkers Student (or rather that is my handle). That is a self given name because my friends told me not to use my real name on the net (wierdo's). I call myself "Parkers Student" because I am a direct decendent of the Great Ed Parker. Well at least through
Kenpo I am anyway. Well enough of that.
Let's start with the fact that I have been studying the art of Kenpo for about 5 years. And it has not always been easy.
But I can say that I could never be where I am today without the support of those who have stood by my side (you know who you are), and most importantly Sifu David Calhoun.
I've studied under Sifu Calhoun for all of the two years that I have been in this art. It is his teaching and guidence that has caused me to become the more confident and patient person that I am today.
I am currently a BROWN belt in Kenpo. BROWN belt is the seventh rank in the belt structure. Thus far it has proven itself to be the most challenging belt. But also very rewarding. My learning is not confined to my own training, but learning to training others as well. As far as I am concerned I have the perfect instructor as an example to follow.
I have almost quit a few times (and that isn't easy to admit). I also know that I have pushed my Sifu to the breaking point a few times as well. And of course there were those times that well, I just couldn't afford the lessons. I don't know how I have made it so far to be quite honest. But here I am.
All that I can say, is that Kenpo, is the greatest thing that has happend to me. And it is a great system for all who want to learn how to better themselves. Really, it is the most versitle style that I have ever encounterd. But hey don't take my word for it. Try it out for yourself. We're everywhere.
