As you try to cook your old favorites, you will find that you can cook the same things by susbstituting
low-fat ingredients in place of the higher fat content ones. And still enjoy your favorite foods.
 
 

Chocolate Cake

To defat this favorite dessert, replace a significant portion of
unsweetened or semi sweet chocolate with cocoa, use fewer
egg yolks and reduce the amount of fat. If the recipe calls for
a cup of butter or shortening, for example, use 2/3 cup.
To reduce the amount of fat, substitute nonfat or low-fat yogurt for
a small portion of the butter or shortening.
