Richardson's Ocean Park

This is the favorite local beach. None of the "beaches" in Hilo look like what a beach is
stereotypically thought of as a beach. It has black, volcanic sand, and tons of rocks and coves.
This is a favorite snorkeling spot. This is the place where we go when we want to swim and get
a tan when the days are actually nice and there is sun and no rain. The last two times we have
been there we have seen rather large sea turtles (I'm estimating about 2 or 3 hundred pounds).
Next time, I'll try to get some pictures of them! Enjoy!

Our group walking along the wall of lava rock and swimming in the lagoon.

Ali, in mid jump, from the lava rock wall into the lagoon.

I love it when the sun actually shines here!
