The
Finn and Breana Story
(As told by
Finn and Bree's dad)
You nearly arrived early on the
morning of Tuesday the 5th
of December. I was just about to go to work when mum's
waters broke. Work cancelled, doctor called,
panic ensued!!
Very quick trip to National Women's
Hospital with a 6.45am arrival.
On arrival we were admitted to
Chairman M.A.U. (Maternity Assessment Unit) level five.
It was decided due to mums early
attempts to give birth. That you both should stay at
home, (mum's tummy) for another two days. All this while
mum was pumped full of Subutinol (a torture drug). And
you guys were pumped full of lung ripening steroids. I
lived on the floor with a six flight trip to the toilet.
After this Mum was shifted to ward
thirty four under the "blue team" and I was
ejected home to feed Drop Kick.
On Saturday the ninth of December, I
was called at 6.30am in the morning.
"Come Quick!"
After an epidural to save me from
getting the BASH, Finn
arrived at 1.17pm. 1630gms and crying.
Breana turned up six minutes later
at 1.23pm. 1505gms also crying
What a relief!
You both had great Apgar scores,
with mum and myself taking great heart from the fact that
your lungs worked. You arrived eight weeks early and
after a quick cuddle were raced up to NICU with me.
You toxic twins had one last laugh,
making mum spewchuck in the delivery room one last time
before her appetite would return.
While Mum was in hospital she
couldn't keep away from you both. The midwives on ward 33
thought she had checked out.
My twins, Finn aka
"Shark-Finn" and Breana aka
"Bree-styler", are all that I ever dreamed of!
You have very proud parents.
