City tour part 4 - Lagoon & Robinsons

The provincial park and lagoon is a popular area for people to go on early morning walks. During the rest of the day it is not very crowded.

To the north and south ends of the rectangular lagoon stand a woman and a female water buffalo and a man and male water buffalo, respectively. The woman standing beside the female water buffalo is a massive sculptural work said to have been done by a French artist whose work was said to have never been duplicated until a Negrense artist who finished Fine Arts from the University of the Philippines duplicated the Frenchman's work of art by coming up with the man and the male water buffalo.

Conceived in 1987, The Negros Museum opened on March 18, 1996. It is run by the Negros Cultural Foundation, a non-stock, non-profit, non-government organization committed to preserving the cultural and historical heritage of Negros.

On the northeast end of Bacolod lies the first, the largest, and the only full-service mall in the city: Robinsons Place Bacolod. This 3-level shopping haven with over 120 shops, dining outlets, recreation facilities, and service centers is undisputably the best destination for shopping and entertainment in this province.

It serves the needs of over 2.2 million residents in Negros Occidental, particularly students from schools and colleges in the City Center. It is accessible via public and private transportation.
