The former Smokey Mountain Dump site

The river with Smokey Mountain in the background, now overgrown with grass.

The white buildings are the government-built permanent housing. The stated plan is for all of the residents in the temporary housing will be shifted to similar permanent housing, but when this will be done is unknown.

Closer look at smokey mountain, which is now off limits to the public.
