Simon Gill, From England, headed up the Organic Farm project. He has planned to also create a model farm for the tribal ministry in Ransang. In this area he has been networking with local agriculture authorities and farmers.
Watering the composts
As you read this, your last meal may have just been digested by millions of enzymes making nutrients available to your body. God has also created enzymes in the soil. These micoorganisms turn organic matter into nutrients available to plants. Scientists are discovering complex relationships between plants and microorganisms that produce an increase in nutrient take-up, release locked up nutrients, impoved growth, strengthening immune systems and aid in drought resistance which leads to an abundant harvest.
Here at YWAM, they were teaching local farmers to grow these Effective Microorganisms (or EM technology) which they can apply to their crops and soils. This photo shows Simon Gill with some of the Microorganisms produced at the YWAM Puerto Princessa Faith Gardens.
