The Brooklyn, NY native, Bobby Karim Arnold had his first taste of music when he was in elementary school. He performed in front of teachers and classmates to the music of the Temptations and the Jackson 5. At that time, music had been the inspiration Karim needed to express his inner feelings. Music played a very important role in his life. Karim’s musical consciousness expanded as he got older. During the time of b-boying, he began to perform in talent shows and city dance contest alike. He also began to cultivate his understanding of music. Not wanting anyone to do it for him, Karim began to educate himself about the Music Industry. That love of music led him to a family reunion in Philadelphia where he met his wife’s cousin, Indikator. They instantly made a lasting impression on each other. “ I represented Indikator when he came to New York to perform, setting up club dates in and around the city”. “ I wanted to make things comfortable for him, while helping him get around the city” asserts Karim. Karim then naturally progressed into handling the management duties for Indikator. “ We have all made a consorted effort into getting Damage Productions and Indikator’s project off the ground”. “ We have been an independent company and have learned a great deal about the inner workings of the Industry and want to apply that to releasing good, quality music. Karim is now Executive Vice President and heads up the New York office of Damage Productions from his Brooklyn location. “ What I envision for the Damage is to continue the artistic and innovative freedom our artists possess, our committment to quality music, and the willingness of our artists not to conform, be compromised or concede”.
