He’s Keith Murray In stores 4/29

Heeee¹s back! Since his debut in 1994 on 'Hostile'from Eric Sermon's Double or Nothing, Keith Murray, the mad matador of metaphor, has enthralled audiences with his gymnastic wordplay. As a solo artist and one third of Def Squad (with Sermon and Redman) the Long Island, NY native crafted classics like the infectious 'The Most Beautifullest Thing In This World'(from his Gold debut of the same name) and the THC laced 'Get Lifted'.His 1996 follow-up Enigma spawned the hit 'The Rhyme'and solidified Murray as one of the most creative MCs to touch a mic. And 1999's It's a Beautiful Thing paired him with lyrical heavyweights like Canibus and colleague Redman.

After a three year incarceration Keith has joined the family at Def Jam records and his lyrical lexicon will reach fans old and new. The new millennium masses got their first taste of Keith Murray on FUBU's 'Fatty Girl'alongside label mates Ludacris and LL Cool J. 'When I came out I was fortunate to be on 'Fatty Girl' to reestablish me as a energetic poetical fun loving lyricist,' Keith declares. His show stealing performance gave birth to catchy new slang like 'badunkadunk' and proved that with the right exposure, Keith's star would shine. 'Keith Murray is the most slept on individual out there and with Def Jam behind me, I can finally get my just due.'

His Def Jam debut, He's Keith Murray, is Keith¹s book of revelations. Growing up in Roosevelt Long Island, Keith had many obstacles to overcome. Poverty, drug use and death took up residence in his many homes shaping Keith into a volatile and misunderstood young man. Thankfully, he found solace in school, music and sports, activities that fed his active imagination and unbridled energy. His rhymes took on an uncanny complexity fueled by several semesters at NYC Technical college and a love of the English language. But unlike the average underground MC, Keith has kept his rhymes accessible and fun. 'I'm still the lyrical lexicon,'he confirms. 'I still got the ill words, but I've got more thought provoking true to life experiences.' Among those experiences is losing his sister, Christina, to AIDS, an experience that he documents on a song named for her.

With many of his trials behind him, Keith approached his new project with focus and renewed vigor. 'I've been out all these years, but I been locked up for half my career,' he reasons. 'I grew up in public so a lot of people saw me wild out and go through changes. He's Keith Murray is a mixture of Enigma and Most Beautiful, but it has a mature adult understanding of the man.'

The funky, 'Yeah Yeah You Know It'is only a sampling of what is to come. Producers like Just Blaze, Clark Kent, Jazze Pha, Track Masters, Pete Rock, DJ Khalil and Eric Sermon were enlisted to provide the canvas for Keith¹s broad lyrical strokes. While the guest roster weighs in tight and light with Busta Rhymes, Redman and childhood friends LOD. 'I can't give them a whole album of special guests,' says Keith, 'I'm here to reinforce my existence in this game. I know how to be amongst the best of them because I can go to Madison Square Garden and do a show with Mary J Blige or BB Kings with Killa Priest.' A deadly combination of skill, wit and diverse instrumentation, He's Keith Murray promises to bring nothing but the best he has to offer. 'If I never make another album again, you gonna know me from this one.'
