LEFT EYE- GETTIN' MARRIED?
I just learned that Lisa "left eye" Lopes, is scheduled to be married July 5, 2001, to her ex-boyfriend ANDRE RISON! I ain't even gotta ask if you remember when she burned his house down in 1994 do I? Everybody remebers the court dates from when she torched that niggaz 1 million dollar house in 1994 after he beat her. But I guess love makes you forgive or sumthin....

OHHLA.COM IS HERE TO STAY

I recently noticed that the RIAA is tryin to shut down OHHLA.COM by saying that it's going against copyrights of song lyrics without permission but i see it like this, what happened to freedom of the press in America? First it was NAPSTER, now it's OHHLA. What site are they gonna shut down next? What are publishing lyrics on an indepedent website gonna hurt? The RIAA needs to stop hatin on these small independent sites. Don't they have better things to do?

ST.LUNATICS
St.Lunatics debuted at No.1 on th hip hop billboard chart and number 3 on the top 200. If we rate their sales by Nelly's, I can see them going platinum for the first time anyday now! Once they go platinum, they may go 6x's like their boy NELLY so if you feelin the Tics', pick the album up aight and show them niggaz love aight...

THE IL NANA RETURNS....

For all that hate her or love her, SHE'S BACKKKKKKK.... If you a real hip hop head, then i know you've seen the "BK ANTHEM" video, produced by young Gavin, Foxy's brother and producer right? Well even the haters gotta admit that this joint is bangin and if you stayed in school long enuff to learn how to read, then you saw the release date on the pic, RIGHT? "Broken Silence" features guest appearances by KELIS, JADAKISS, RONALD ISLEY, and more. One cut not to be slept on is "THE LETTER" where Foxy exposes her inner demons and lets us know whats really goin on.The track is set up like a suicide letter and kinda answers all the questions punkasses didn't wanna ask to her face. On "BK ANTHEM", Fox reps for the "thoroughest Borough" and ends the simple but straight to the point chorus with "Brooklyn beef- who want that?"
REVIEW COMING SOON....

HOLLA

/ out of 5 stars
"What up wit Cormega, did you see him, are yall together?"

Since being immortalized on arguably the greatest album in hip hop history, Cormega has been waiting to unveil his skills to the world. Mega has been through more label ups-and-downs than a New York city elevator, and at times it seemed as if a Cormega solo album would forever be held in limbo. Finally, in the first year of the new millennium, we have what many heads are calling a certified classic, "Tha Realness".

Mega sets it off with the appropriately titled "Dramatic Entrance", and the beat definitely does justice to its title. Establishing the cool, dark mood of a Mobb Deep album, "Dramatic Entrance" invokes feelings of what it's like to take a stroll through the Queensbridge projects. You might hear some backpackers talking shit about "American Beauty", saying that Mega's biting Common's "Resurrection", which couldn't be farther from the truth. All though Mega speaks of hip-hop as if it was his bitch, it's merely Mega's take on the rap industry through the "significant other" metaphor.

And for the fools thinking Mega's nothing more than another thug outta QB, he gets deep for em on "The Saga". In a melancholy tone, Mega pours his heart into the tracks chorus:

"Look at my life, you see white coke and black roses, and tears shed for past soldiers, we all walkin a path chosen, from the cradle til the caskets lowered
I still got the black ski-mask to throw on, but I could get richer off the tracks I flow on, I'd be lyin if I said I wasn't hustlin no more...look at my life..."

While Mega's lyrics are way above average, he also is blessed with some simplistic, yet incredibly tight production. "Fallen Soldiers", produced by J-Love and the remix produced by Alchemist both have catalytic effects on Mega's lyrics, and "They Forced My Hand", produced by Spunk Bigga would sound dope with ANYONE rapping over it. Then there's the incredible "Raps A Hustle" by Ayatollah, probably the most innovatively produced track on the cd, and my pick for the album standout. Oh, and don't press stop after the last track is over...wait a couple seconds and you'll get blessed by a collabo with the Mobb that has been around the net, but is probably unheard in most circles.

Is this album the second coming of Illmatic? No, there probably will never be said album, but "Tha Realness" is undeniable dope shit, and definitely a must buy. Surprisingly, the biggest disappointment with the album is in some of the tracks' duration, some just over the two minute mark, but with material like this, Mega Montana's name will be in the heads of hip hop junkies everywhere. Mega's finally come through, and it was well worth the wait.
