WILL SNOOP
DOGG NOT LEARN FROM 'PAC AND B.I.G?
You may have heard that Snoop
Dogg has recently recorded a track titled "Pimp Slap", which is
basically a diss record aimed at Suge
Knight, Kurupt,
and Xzibit. Word
is that Kurupt
and Xzibit have
recorded a song dissing the whole Dogg Pound, after another diss song, by Daz,
aimed at Kurupt.
The whole beef started when it appeared Kurupt
was sseemingly about to sign a contract with Snoop's Doggystyle Records,
but shocked everyone when he re-signed to Death Row, hence the diss aimed
at Suge Knight.
Will Snoop learn from 'Pac's
mistakes or will the beef escalate to fatal proportions? Is Suge
Knight the wrong man to mess with, following his
implications in Tupac's
death, and his imfamous balcony incident with Vanilla Ice? Watch this
space.
Also Snoop has claimed that he
is giving up his favourite pastimes, weed and alcohol, which just so
happen to be a major feature in his music.
What the F*** is he going
to rap about now...?
Snoop Dogg's new solo project
titled Paid the Cost to Be the Boss drops November 19. The first
single is produced by the Neptunes and its called 'From the Church to the
Palace'. "I'm also working on song I have with Lenny Kravitz soon
as I get back home," Says Snoop.
NORE
CONCERT IN CANCELLED VIOLENCE THREAT
An Atlantic City, NJ
concert, which was supposed to feature Nore,
Styles
and Khia was
cancelled, because police feared that the venue would breakout with gang
violence. Atlantic City police told the managers at Sandcastle Stadium
that Nore in particular could possibly attract a gang element. Police
allege the frontman of Capone-N-Noreaga was closely affiliated with gangs.
EMINEM CRACKED AND JACKED
A month after rap artist Eminem
released his latest album with 'uncrackable' copyright protection
technology, pirated copies were on sale across Eastern Europe. Universal
has invested considerable effort in stopping piracy of the Eminem Show,
with technology embedded in the CD's from being copied and redistributed.
Serves him right for
recycling old material and churning out the latest album...which is crap
in comparison to his first two...
NEW YORK'S
FINEST???
Rappers Jay-Z
and Nas,
who have been beefing lyrically for the past few months, have been
proposed to get physical in the ring as part of a pay per view battle.
Despite the bout being a charity event,
Nas has declined, claiming
that he is no boxer, but he can prove that he is better than
Jay-Z by releasing an album on the same day as him.
The question on
everybody's lips is "who would win". The question on my lips is
"does hip hop really need more publicised violence?". Will this
battle go too far, or is it all a publicity stunt? What are your thoughts
on this matter?
Jay-Z
later spoke out on the matter, saying that each would put up $1 million,
both artists would have a separate concert and then kick 3 freestyles.
How the hell would that work?
NAS TO
JOIN JA "TAKE OFF MY SHIRT TO SELL RECORDS" RULE???
I've heard MANY rumours
and variations of stories about Nas signing to Murder
Inc. I was worried initially,
but Nas cleared up the rumours in a recent interview by stating that he is
perfectly happy on his current label,
Columbia, and looks forward
to future projects without a label change. Luckily, he will not be signing
to Murder Inc,
as of yet.
I resent the thought of
Nas becoming a sex symbol like Ja Rule and
Ashanti, as I feel that this
status would take the edge off his much respected lyrical skills and would
lose him many "real" fans.
SO TRINA
DOES WEAR CLOTHES AFTER ALL...
Bad Girl Rapper Trina
is set to launch her own clothing line later this year, under the
brand-name "Diamond Princess Wear", featuring a range of styles
from casual to formal. In a recent interview, Trina
slammed other rapper-cum-clothes designers by riticising their abnormally
high prices. her affordable prices means that her clothes really will be
the attire of street kids.
