"A Sailor Life"

The Sailors Life

I will tell of my sea travels of my sorrows and woes, on the ship we went.
The sailors life is the life for me, the thrills of the winds the ragings of the sea.
The peaceful nights to and gaze at the moon with thoughs of the days adventures.
The songs we sang made things pleasent, the fish we caught as big as a whale. What a tale to tell!
The hunger & strife of a hard day at work, the singing the laughter was a gayful note,
but the thrill of the watching at night on the bow of the ship as the sea drenched me with spray cold from the sea.
I was heated by the cares of the day and things to do. The roar of the shrieking waves, there by the rail my mate did slip and washed out to sea!
Tra as we did try as we could we could not get him back from the raging sea! Shrill was the roar of the shrieking gale lashing along the ship, The storm stopped quiet was the night, but tonight was an empty feeling as the one lost at sea could never be replaced, yet the call of the sea is still with me, the joy of Gods wonderful sea.
The singing was low & mornful tears of sadness was the only thought and could never be replaced.
