Bobbin Lace
Rose Collar
I was a beginner at bobbin lace and had been teaching myself for about
a year, with the helpful encouragement of all the friendly folks on Arachne.
This collar used 40 pairs of Bockens 90/2 linen thread. The pattern is
from E.-L. Kortelahti's Roses in Bobbin Lace.
Miniature Torchon Tablecloth
This is my first lace design, which took a lot less time than I expected, although I don't have design software; I just did it on a grid with a pencil. It's a simple Torchon miniature tablecloth for Joan Fernbach. I worked it on a 2mm grid with DMC Broder Machine thread.
Close-up of corner
New! I have provided the pricking for the tablecloth. With Joan's permission, it is named after her daughter, Andrea. It should print at roughly the right size: 8" long and 5.75" wide. Ten dots to the inch, measured along the diagonal. Because I did not design this with lace design software, the grid might be slightly off at times.
