Card WeavingMy first band, woven from perle 8 cotton. It became the ties for the machine-quilted cover of my Chicago Manual of Style.Inkle WeavingMy first attempt. Second attempt. Selvedges are getting better! Binyamin's band. My 6 year old son requested his own and he chose the red, purple and green. I had some black left over on the shuttle and used that as the weft. I wove this out of some of my beginner handspun. I learned an important lesson: fluffy uneven yarn makes lousy warp. I had to rip the strands apart for every shed. Although I could have sized the warp, since it was only 5 feet long I just gritted my teeth and yanked while weaving.
