Lace Knitting
Constance's Bag
This bag, made for Knitlister Constance Harker, is 3 inches high and
2 inches wide. It was knitted from teal blue DMC perle 8 cotton on size
0000 needles. I cast on 8 stitches and increased with 8 evenly spaced yo's
around the bottom until I had 40 stitches on 4 double-pointed needles.
From that point I worked straight in diagonal trellis, sort of an ad hoc
faggotting stitch (*k2tog, yo* every row), then switched to stockinette
stitch briefly, with a row of 10 holes made by k2tog, yo for the cord.
The frilly top was done in Old Shale and a twisted cord was threaded through
the holes.
Lois's Bag
This bag, which has bead knitted initials and decoration, was one of my earliest tiny bags.
