Counted Thread Embroidery
Butterfly and Lilies
My first major cross-stitch piece. The pattern is from PieceWork. Completed 2003.
Assisi Embroidery Needlebook
I designed and worked this piece when I was 14 years old. At the time I was interested in traditional European embroidery and wanted to do a small piece of Assisi embroidery. It was the cover of my needlebook for many years. The fabric is 44 count linen (roughly; you'll note that it is not evenweave) and the thread is probably a single strand of DMC embroidery floss.
Cross-stitch and Blackwork
Counted stitch embroidery, a hybrid of Ukrainian cross-stitch and blackwork. I worked it on the only cloth I could find locally, 14 count Aida, during my first dismal winter in Israel. It ended up as a wedding gift. Definitely not one of my better pieces.
