Tatting

Anne Orr doily

doily doily detailTatted in size 30 cotton. Pattern from "Tatting with Anne Orr." (2000)

Lois's Collar

This collar is tatted in size 30 Cordonnet, from the pattern "Victory" in The Tatter's Treasure Chest, ed. Mary Carolyn Waldrep (New York: Dover, 1990), p. 40.

Tatted Wreath

I tatted this wreath from single strands of DMC embroidery floss and a pattern that I found on the internet (designed by Ruth Rippenberger). I made this wreath and a snowflake for Debi in WA, who entered them in the Evergreen State Fair in 1997. I was absolutely tickled when I received a blue ribbon in the Novice Division for tatting.

The pattern is from Mary Konior's Tatting with Visual Patterns, worked in size 50 cotton. Please note: I actually drew the threads and hemstitched the handkerchief myself. Why? No idea. I guess I needed to prove to myself that I could sew as well as the average 12-year-old Victorian girl.
