Gwen and AJ drove home with Whittney who was going to stay in AJ's house with them.
"So where's Ash staying?" Whittney asked.
"At Nick's for now," AJ answered.
"What?!" Whittney asked. She hadn't talked to her sister in a while and had no idea she was getting this serious with Nick. "Does dad know?"
"I guess not. He was supposed to find out but Ashleigh won't talk to him," Gwen said.
"She is so stubborn...but dad will kill her," Whittney said.
"I dunno, maybe he'll understand that Nick is cool unlike that other dude," AJ said.
"Maybe...but dad will still kill her," Whittney said. They pulled into their driveway and Whittney ran out to go swimming. AJ and Gwen walked in and went upstairs to their bedroom.
"Damn, I'm tired," AJ said, as he changed. Gwen walked into their closet.
"I know," she called out.
"But I'm not too tired...." AJ hinted. Gwen laughed.
"Sorry, I'm closed for the night," Gwen hollered out. AJ ran into their closet and picked her up.
"AH! Put me down!" she screamed, laughing. AJ started kissing her wildly and she kissed back, trying not to laugh. He kicked their closet door shut and they started ripping each others clothes off. Just as AJ unzipped her pants, the intercom came on.
"Guys, Brian called. Leighanne is in the hospital," Whittney cried over the intercom. AJ growled because they were interrupted and Gwen gasped.
"Oh my God! AJ, we have to go," Gwen cried, putting her clothes back on. AJ agreed and put his clothes back on. They stumbled downstairs.
"What happened?" Gwen asked her sister.
"He didn't say...but he sounded worried," Whittney said. AJ grabbed his keys.
"Okay, Whitt stay here," Gwen said.
"Fine," Whittney sighed. AJ rushed Gwen out the door and they climbed into the car.

Brian sat in a private waiting room with his head in his hands. Leighanne burst into tears in the car because of this horrible pain she was having and he immediately took her to the hospital. They rushed her into the ER and he was left with a million questions. He could feel the tears pour down his face as he worried about his wife and their baby. The door flew opened and Nick ran in. He looked at his best friend's tear stained face and could feel his heart break. Brian slowly stood up.
"They...they don't know what’s wrong," Brian burst into tears and Nick hugged his best friend. It hurt him to see Brian this upset and he was worried about Leighanne also. But Nick knew he had to be strong for Brian for all the times Brian was strong for him. Nick hugged Brian tight.
"Everything will be okay buddy. I promise," he said. Brian tried to compose himself. Gwen and AJ rushed into the room.
"What's happening?" AJ asked, rushing over to Brian.
"They don't know," Brian answered as he sat on the couch slowly. Gwen rushed over and held Brian's hand.
"She'll be fine Brian," Gwen tried to comfort him.
"What about our baby?" Brian whispered.
"Let's just pray," Gwen said, squeezing his hand. The four sat in the room for what seemed like hours but it was only 35 minutes later when a doctor entered.
"Mr. Littrell...can I speak to you for a moment?" he asked as Brian got up. AJ rushed over and put his arm around Gwen. The three waited in silence as Brian slowly walked back in about 10 minutes later.
"They lost the baby," he spoke very slowly. "The baby had lost oxygen and they tried to deliver early and ....." Brian choked, "...and they lost her. It was a girl." He started sobbing and Gwen ran over to him. She enveloped him in her arms and he collapsed in her grasp. Nick rushed over and helped Gwen hold him up. AJ stood back and watched...he didn't know what to say. Brian composed himself and wiped his tears away.
"I have to go wake up Leighanne, she doesn't even know yet. They put her under for the surgery...how am I going to tell her?" he asked.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Gwen asked. Brian nodded and left the room.
"I gotta go call their parents and everyone else," Nick said, leaving the room before they could see the tears beginning to swell in his eyes. Gwen and AJ just stood facing each other. Before AJ could even say something, Gwen burst into tears. AJ ran to her and caught her before she fell to the ground.
"It's not fair AJ," she cried.
"I know baby," he said, cradling her.
"I want to be able to have children,'' Gwen said. AJ hugged her tight and kissed her head.

It was the next day and everyone had heard about Leighanne. Gwen and AJ decided to go over to their house and comfort them. They drove over and walked up to the door. Brian answered and let them in. Gwen and AJ hugged Brian.
"How are you doing?" Gwen asked.
"We're okay," Brian said. "It's been really hard on Leighanne."
"Where is she?" Gwen asked.
"She's upstairs lying down," Brian said.
"Can I go talk to her?" Gwen asked. Brian nodded and Gwen headed upstairs. AJ and Brian walked into the kitchen and Brian got them out two cans of cokes.
"I'm really sorry man," AJ said.
"Thanks AJ," Brian said.
"I..uh, I kinda know how it feels," AJ said.
"No offence J, but how could you possibly know what it feels like?" Brian asked.

Gwen knocked softly on their bedroom door and peaked her head in. Leighanne was under the covers and it was obvious she had been crying.
"Hi," Gwen said, walking into the room and sitting on a chair next to the bed. "Leigh, I'm so sorry honey."
"Thank you Gwen and thank you for helping Brian last night," she said. She sighed and looked out the window. "I can't believe this is happening to me."
"I know what you mean," Gwen said, gently. Leighanne looked over at her questionably.
"How?"
