The BBWLounge has gone through many changes over the years, and has withstood various "storms" because it is a strong and decent room...it has also been a "home away from home" for many chatters, a place where REAL friendships have been forged, and relationships have begun.

Because the BBWLounge is important to many of us, not as "circus entertainment", but as a place to relax and talk to others, it is imperative that we keep it safe from chronic troublemakers, PODS, hackers, etc. Because we have had problems lately which have escalated, and caused chat to be disrupted and new chatters to leave, I have instituted these rules for everyone to follow with agreement from the TC administration. The majority of our chatters know how to handle themselves properly, but there are those that need to be reminded. With this is mind, I have listed the following clarifications and rules for all to read.

Remember first and foremost that this room is a private room, owned and paid for by me, Lalababy, and although I made this room for all of us to enjoy, it is still up to me what I wish for this room and what will and will not be tolerated here. "Freedom of Speech" doesn't apply here because it is a private room, and if there is any so-called "freedom" it most certainly comes with responsibility and respect for others. We are not here to curtail your opinions as long as you are not here to bash.

Also, the OPs (or room moderators) are here to uphold the rules and keep the room safe for our chatters. They DID NOT make the rules. They are also chatters themselves, and therefore have every right to be there whether there are other OPs in the room or not. They do not work in shifts and are not required to remove their OPs status just to chat because it makes others uncomfortable to see "too many hammers".

At my request, and also per TALK CITY administration, OPs are now advised to warn only once. If the problem continues, the person will be gagged, for a period determined by the OP...if the problem continues, the person will be banned, again for a period determined by the OP. If the person is allowed back in and continues to cause a problem, then TALK CITY administration will be notified and the person will be banned indefinitely by me.

The following is a listing of certain types of behavior that will not be tolerated. Please read carefully and understand so that there will be no question in the future:

We will not tolerate harassment of another chatter. If you have a problem with someone, take it to a private whisper, or out of the room. The room AND the forum are not to be used to bash or make fun of anyone. Threats will be taken seriously and TC will be notified, as well as the proper authorities if the problem warrants us to do so.

Sexually explicit language will not be allowed. We are all adults, or at least should act as such, and I believe that we all know what is acceptable behavior. We can and HAVE had fun in an adult manner without being disgusting and rude. If you want to be sexually explicit, please take it to private, or make a phonecall.

Please keep profanity to a minimum. We all know the slangs and abbreviations that can be used to convey your thoughts. If you feel it makes you cooler to actually type the swear, you will be gagged and you can be cool by yourself.

Agitating other chatters into causing a fight will not be tolerated. If you are bored, and need entertainment, please go to some of the other rooms and servers to start trouble. In any given situation, anyone who adds to a problem will also be gagged, so it would be in your best interest to let the OPs handle a bad situation and not comment. If you disagree with the handling, please notify me immediately. I will handle any complaints as I see fit. If an OP is busy and does not see something going on, please attempt to get their attention in whisper before handling the situation on your own. If there is no OP available, please use common sense. The /ignore feature works well, but if it is "broken" try just plain ignoring the person. Without an audience, most often they will go away. If you can't seem to ignore, then you will also be asked to leave.

Those who put the room, the OPs, or me down will be asked to leave. If you continue, you will be gagged. If you do not like the room, then please don't stay on our account. If there are those you wish to see, ask them to meet you elsewhere, so you will not have to be here. As the OPs have several different ways to handle situations, some of which you cannot see in room, and as I have selected these OPs myself and have every confidence in the judgement of the present OPs, it is MY decision whether an OP is not doing their job. AGAIN, if you have a complaint about ANY OP, please do not hesitate to speak to me directly instead of complaining in the room.

Chatters are indeed real people, and whether you meet them or not, we will not tolerate disrespect of any kind. Please treat others as you wish to be treated, and we will have a great chatroom. If you cannot adhere to these rules, then this is not the room for you.
