Q.
I have recently (last week) been given a diagnosis of MS. I also have high cholestrol (now medicated-with Pravachol) and am on Fosamax to prevent osteo.
I am being bombarded with relatives offering me alternate medications and wonder whether you know which can go with which or whether there is a site where I can list the proposed pills and have an apraisal done on their mixability.

There are a number of databases such as this one, that list drugs and/or herb interactions.

The best way to search for an interaction is to
Google (go to www.google.com) the drug you are taking,
along with the words “interaction herb”. You will come up with hits like this one that specifically address the drug you are taking with herbal interactions.

If there is a particular supplement that you are
planning on taking, Google the drug plus the
supplement and see what comes up. You will need to
do this with each drug you are taking.
