Healing Alternatives: Ask Pam

Natural Help for Schizoaffective Disorder

9-08-04
Dear Pam,

Q. My fiance has schizoaffective disorder. I am taking him to the Pfeiffer Treatment Center to see what types of vitamins and amino acids he needs to take. Have you heard of anyone who has success there with this type of disorder? He is on geodone currently (80 mg) and I want to find alt. healing treatments so that he can reduce his medicine. I know in the past his symptoms got worse depending on his diet/food.

A. As far as I am aware, Pfeiffer has a good reputation, and schizoaffective disorder is a condition that may be helped with appropriate diet and supplements. Since your sweetie knows that his symptoms have gotten worse in the past depending on his diet, I would say that he is a prime candidate for nutritional therapy. Good luck!

Pam
