Peel me away
one finger at a time.
I pull you towards me
claws clutch arms
I haul you in
weigh my light anchor
but find nothing
at the end of my line
I think, much
like fishing perhaps
to drop the rope again
may this time produce
the prize
That's when i wake
to find knotted sheets
sore sweaty hands
But in this world,
it seems, even
the rope is missing
