Graduation
Programs and Memorabilia
(Playing ~ sample of Coronation March from The Prophet by Giacomo Meyerbeer)
This was the processional
played at Commencement, May 23, 1946,
by our Chattanooga High School Band.
The front of the
graduation invitation will not show up on a scanner because it is
white on white ..... except for this small gold shield with the
dynamo
which reads, underneath, "Chattanooga H S."
Scan of inside of graduation invitation.
My graduation rose .....
all girls carried these long-stem American beauty roses at
graduation ...
stem had to be shortened; too long to press. They looked grand
with our white dresses.
I know many others also pressed their rose and kept it all these
years.
Our diploma ...... It's a
bit too large for my scanner to pick up all
the outside edges, including the seal and ribbon but it's close
enough.

And who could forget the beanie!
(Somewhere I also have
the little white beanie, with maroon button,
that we wore in the Drill Squad. I don't seem to find it at the
present.)
The 3 tokens you see to
the side are those I had left after leaving City.
These were used to ride the streetcar every day to and from
school,
and, to the best of my memory, cost 3 cents each.
On one side, the token says "Good for one Fare."
On the other, it reads "Southern Coach Lines, Inc.,
Chattanooga"
