Physical Description: 5’3”, somewhat small stature, gained from her mother’s side. She has hazel colored eyes, an almost sea blue-green color and dark brown hair, gained from her father’s side. She is about 15 years of age.
Family: Mother is Chao Lin from China and her father is Frederic Lowings from America. They had met during their college years and were married and moved to their current location after graduation. Adia has one older brother who looks a bit like their mother. His name is Alexander, but like his sister, prefers to be called by his nickname, Alex.
Personality: Often times described as a gentle soul who is nice to be around. She isn’t extremely outgoing but not withdrawn. It takes a lot to get her upset, but if one does reach this point, she can be dangerous. However, her beliefs make this stage very difficult to reach. She is quite loyal to her friends and would go to great lengths to protect them. This serene river has the capabilities to become just as powerful as a cascading water fall.
Belief: She is not an overly religious person, however she does follow the Buddhist school of thought as well as the Taoist beliefs. The concept of doing good to others and not to be out to benefit oneself is the main focus of her belief. These views as well as others are sometimes evident in her words and in her views. She was surprised to find herself being in charge of one of the elements, but her beliefs 5 elements are not the same as those the 4 will be guarding. Water is seen as good to the Taoist, being that it seeks a low humble position. Although she’s not as emphatic about the ‘do nothing’ part of the Way, she does believe doing the least possible for the purpose is the best way to go.
Interests: Hydrology is obviously an interest to her since she can control it. She has studied such things during her schooling, but it had always held a fascination for her ever since she was little. Music is another passion in that it can be linked to water metaphorically. That, and she loves the way it allows her to express emotions in ways other media cannot even come close to. Thus she spends much of her time in music both at school and at home. Her mother is pleased, being a violinist herself and encourages her daughter’s flute playing.
Other: Her connection to water in other ways may or may not have been purposeful. Even her name reflects her element. Part of her name includes that of the Roman goddess, Diana. Although she is the goddess of the moon, the moon can greatly affect the water on earth. Thus, on a full moon, Adia’s powers seem to strengthen. Whether there is an actual connection or merely a subconscious thing, is unknown.
Powers: As a water element, she obviously can control or manipulate water. She cannot heat or freeze it, therefore can only work with water that is already in a liquid or vapor state. One partial exception is that of condensation. She can cause vapor to condense and form into clouds by speeding up the natural process. Therefore she can manipulate the clouds themselves as well as cause precipitation (the type based on high up she creates the clouds). Although she can control cloud genesis, she cannot move them nor can she create storms. All she can do is start the process, but another is required to charge the air to create the lightening within a storm. Along with this, she is capable of many different types of water ‘attacks’. One example is where she can send a column of water at high velocity toward her opponent. From this, it could plow into them or form a ring about them, trapping them in a hollow tall cylinder of water.
