0525meI live in Colorado with my husband of seven years, Rick, my two daughters, Samantha and Susan, (12 and 15) and my stepdaughter, Amy (17). Rick is an Air Traffic Controller, Samantha is a pain in the butt little sister, Susan is the problem child and Amy likes her room. They are good kids.

In 1994, I completed my Bachelor of Science Degree. I was a single mother of two on my own, this was an accomplishment I thought I never would achieve. I went on to work in the clerical field doing administration and accounting.

In 1999, after years of strange symptoms, I was diagnosed with hepatitis C. I did not even know what that was. I thought hepatitis was something you get from contaminated food. I learned more from the Internet than from the medical profession. I really am not sure how I became infected. I am RH negative and was subjected to Rhogam therapy during and after two pregnancies in the 1980s. (Rhogam is derived from blood plasma). I think that is the most likely, but, I also have a small tattoo.

I have just finished horrible treatments to try and clear the virus in October. I finished the protocol of 48 weeks and am recovering very well. In May, 2003 I will test again. At that point I will be considered "cured" or not.....

The picture by the window was taken right before I started treatment, the picture at the top right (with poodle) was taken at 43 weeks into treatment, picture at the bottom was taken 30 weeks into treatment.

Please visit the links down below, I post at these sites often. Great places to share info, news, laughs, tears or anything regarding hepatitis C with great people.
