Construction of the Fountain
A long deep trench had to be dug to be able to install the power supply for the water pump/garden lights for the fountain. Over eight length of garden polytubes ran along this trench as well. The white PVC were used to shield the electrical cables. Hard PVC sheets were used to cover the white PVC tubes before the trench was covered back up.
Treated pine timber were used for the garden bed surrounding the fountain. There
were pre-cut at 1m length by a carpenter from Mitre 10. Metal strips were used to
hold the eight pieces of threated pine timber. They formed an octagon shape garden
bed around the fountain.
The fibre glass pond was then placed in the middle. Thick timber and recycled bricks
were used to hold the pond in place. Then, the three piece fountain set were
installed. Triple mix soil were then shoved into the octagon garden bed. The
polytube sprinkler were installed at the same time.
Next came the laying of the yellow concrete pavers. Mortar were used to hold the
pavers in place.
An external double power points and the water pump were then fitted. The beautiful
plants that purchased from All Green Nursery were then planted. Mulch were used as
ground covered. A net was installed to prevent the bird and cats from eating the
large fishes.
Next, the garden light were installed. The pond was filled with water. A few days later, eight large gold fishes were put in the pond.
