Thank you

I think of you, my love, but I don't know you,
For all I know is that you must be there,
Of all the loves and hates of other people,
The one for me of whom I'm not aware.

You are the closest to my waiting being,
And I must be as well your wish so deep.
You dream of me when you're awake and shining,
And seek me when you're sad and go to sleep.

But if one day we came across each other
What would then happen, would you spot a gleam?
Or you would pass me by smiling and seeing
A curious resemblance to your dream...

I wish you caught my hand touching your wrist and
The blaze of love could strike us with its heat,
As if a god exploded and were falling
Down through the stars, the holes in heaven's pleat.

But even if only our thoughts may ever
Embrace, my perfect match of anywhere,
And although I may never really meet you,
I want to thank you just for being there.
