Notes for JOHN MARTIN:

He lived in Barrington. He ran a sloop from Warren to Providence and around Narragansett Bay, and after the death of his father settled upon the homestead farm where he remained for some years.  He then sold out and moved to a farm at New Meadow Neck, on the Barneyville road.

Children of JOHN MARTIN and MARY WITHERELL are:

i. BETSY⁷ MARTIN, b. September 22, 1810; m. (1) MR. BOWEN; m. (2) JOSEPH S. JAYNE.

ii. JOSEPH ELBRIDGE MARTIN, b. December 29, 1811.

iii. JEREMIAH MARTIN, b. March 13, 1813; m. ROBY MARTIN.

He was a sea captain and died at Charleston, SC of yellow fever.

iv. HANNAH MARTIN, b. September 21, 1814., married George Champlin.

She had three sons George (deceased), John (East Providence), Frank

v. MARY JANE MARTIN, b. April 19, 1817, m. Charles H. Collamore.

vi. JOHN MARTIN, b. April 24, 1818, m. Amy Mowry, D. Millbury, MA

vii. GEORGE MARTIN, b. July 20, 1819, married a ??Surgeons, had one son John
