Helga:"Dang Phoebe there`s nothing to do this Saturday especially since your gonna be out on that trip to France."

Phoebe:"Why don`t you hang out with someone else for the weekend Helga?"

Helga:"Like?"

Phoebe:"Rhonda no, Gerald....No, um I know Arnold!"

Helga:"Arnold?"

Phoebe:"Yeah Arnold."

Helga:"Ha ha good one Phoebes only one problem HE HATES ME!"

Phoebe:"He doesn`t hate you."

Helga:"Ok Fine HE CAN`T STAND ME!"

Phoebe:"Oh ok fine we`ll have to start fresh why don`t you hang out with a guy from another school?"

Helga:"Why all of a sudden do you think I want to hang out with guys?"

Phoebe:"I dunno I thought you seemed lonely Helga."

Helga:"Ha ha me lonely whatever gave you that idea?"

Phoebe:"I think so Helga whenever you come along with me and Gerald you always look sad at you feel like you don`t fit in but we are going to change all that."

Helga:"Yeah? How?"

Phoebe:"We`ll we could ask Rhonda to help?"

Helga:"Help with what?"

Phoebe:"Dating tips, hairstyles, your outfit, makeup."

Helga:"WHAT? Do I even have a date yet? Why I didn`t even say that I would even do this dumb date thing!"

Phoebe:"We`ll we do have a date ready for you. And I think you should give it a try come on."

Helga:"What do you mean we?"

Phoebe:"We`ll ya see me and Rhonda have set this whole thing up."

Helga:"But...."

Phoebe:"Oh come on it`ll be fun and you won`t be bored."

Helga:"Alright Phoebes whatever."

Phoebe:"Yay lets go to Rhonda`s!"

Later that night,

Helga:"And he`s gonna be here by eight?"

Rhonda:"Don`t worry Helga your gonna look great we already plucked your eyebrows Permed your hair so its nice and curly. You have your flares and princess shirt on all we have to do is do the makeup ok."

Helga:"Ok..."

Rhonda:"Leave your eyes open and don`t blink I`m gonna do your eyeshadow."

Phoebe:"I gotta go pack now guys see ya Helga let me know how it goes."

Helga:"Ok I will."

Rhonda:"Were not going to give you any lipstick because when your nine you shouldn`t wear to much makeup But we will give you some blush so you don`t look pale."

Helga:"Ok."

Rhonda:"Wahla all done look at yourself."

She handed Helga a mirror and she gazed in and could barely believe her eyes."

Helga:"That me?"

Rhonda:"Yes you look very nice your date is going to love you."

Helga couldn`t help but be pleased but if only her date was Arnold and not some other man who would never mean anything to her."

Knock Knock.

Rhonda:"Oh that must be him!"

Helga gulped.

Rhonda:"Oh come on He`s going to be enamored with you the minute he sets his eyes on you."

Rhonda hurried to the door "Oh hi I thought you were someone else....no there is no problem..no I wasn`t going on a date! My friend was! Do you seriously think I would go out in this regular day outfit I don`t think so. Shut up! Go away!"

*Door slam*

Helga:"I guess that wasn`t my date?"

Rhonda:"No it wasn`t it was some old brother of my dad`s."

Helga:"You just slammed the door in your Uncle`s face!"

Rhonda:"Who cares. He has no right to yell at me for doing something I was not going to do. Besides I`m allowed to go on dates like everyone else."

Helga:"Ok then!"

Rhonda:"Hmm while we wait for your date who is awfully late! Lets do something."

Helga:"Like what?"

Rhonda:"Lets paint each others nails since we thought we wouldn`t have time to do before."

Helga:"Ok whatever I don`t care."

Rhonda:"Hmm I have to say you should have rose colored nail polish since your dress is kinda rose colored."

Helga:"Ok why not? What color do you want?"

Rhonda:"Definitely silver with sparkles."

Helga:"Ok lets do it to pass the time on."

Rhonda:"Yeah but I promise you that he WILL come."

Helga:"Ok."

Two hours later,

Helga:"WHY isn`t anything on tv what is the point of having cable!"

Rhonda:"Well we won`t have to watch much more of it cause your date will be here soon."

Helga:"You`ve been saying that for the last two hours now!"

Rhonda:"I`m sure he has a very good reason for being late."

Helga:"You mean for not showing up."

Rhonda:"He is gonna show up. Besides when you go on dates you have to get used to guys not showing up once in awhile."

Helga:"But this is my first date! First dates are supposed to be special but this one isn`t because he hasn`t even showed up."

Rhonda:"Come on lets go hang out with some of our friends then."

Helga:"Ok who?"

Rhonda:"Lets call up a bunch of people so we can have some fun!"

Helga:"Who should we call first?"

Rhonda:"We have two phone lines so I call on mine and you`ll call on my parents. I`ll give you a list of people to call and their phone numbers."

Helga:"Ok."

Rhonda hands her a phone book and shows which ones for her to call. And one of the names on that list is Arnold`s.

Rhonda:"Ok my phone line is upstairs the phone is over there were you`ll make the calls ok?"

Helga:"What do I say?"

Rhonda:"Ask them if they wanna come to Rhonda`s house for a party."

Helga:"Ok."
Helga calls Arnold,

Grandma:"Yes Hello."

Helga:"May I please speak to Arnold."

Grandma:"Why yes. ARNOLD! A young lady is on the phone for you."

Arnold takes phone,

Arnold:"Hello."

Helga:"Hey football head this is Helga calling from Rhonda`s see my date never showed up so me and Rhonda are gonna have a party so we were wondering if you wanted to come?"

Arnold:"Ok sure do you want me to call people for you."

Helga:"Nah just come over."

Arnold:"Ok."

Helga:"Bye."

Arnold:"See ya in a bit bye."

Phone hangs up,

Helga:"Ohhh!"

Picks up list and proceeds calling the people,

Later,

Knock knock,

Helga jumps from her seat and opens the door,

Helga:"Oh hi Nadine."

Helga:"Hey Helga ready for the party?"

Helga:"Yeah."

Arnold walks up "Hey guys."

Helga and Nadine:"Hey Arnold."

Rhonda rushes down the stairs,

Rhonda:"Helga we have to buy food! I totally forgot Nadine you help me with the decorations."

Rhonda:"And Helga can go bye the food. Arnold will you help her?"

Arnold:"Sure."

Rhonda:"Ok well here is my weeks allowance money my parents will pay me back later she hands them a hundred dollar bill."

Arnold:"Ok."

Rhonda:"Hurry up go before they all get here."

Arnold and Helga rush out the door and run down to the store.

They run and get all the items on the list,

Cashier:"It all comes to $50.95 do you have that much?"

Helga:"What do you think?" She slaps down the hundred dollar bill on the counter."

Cashier takes it and hands Helga the change,

Helga and Arnold run down the street, Helga trips and falls.

Arnold:"Are you ok?"

Helga:"I`m fine. What are you staring at help me up."

Arnold gives her his hand and lifts her up.

Helga:"I`m alright no harm done."

Arnold holds her hand tight,

Arnold:"That`s good. I`m sorry that your date never showed up do you want to dance when we get back."

Helga:"Why do you wanna dance with me for?"

Arnold:"Cause where friends."

Helga:"Ok why not."

Arnold:"Cool."

And they walk back to the party hand in hand,
