Deliverance

I awoke
from horror
and it lingered inside
as a restless fear

a cigarette
as I tell the story
another
don't say it's too many

My mind works hard
attaching to reality
Blue shirt, pink cup
white phone
Deliverance comes
in a little white pill
A promise
I vow to believe in

Just a little while now
a cigarette
as I wait
and pick up the floor
and get mad at you

white hanger

I lie down to let rest fall over me again
A train of colors
keeps fearful thoughts at bay

I am finally brought
into peaceful sleep
By that little white promise
Delivered
