1. Richard BOYCE (BOYES)

Richard Boyce was born at Muscoates near Wombleton, Yorkshire, England on the 5th of February, 1785 and was Christened four days later within the parish of nearby Kirkdale Church. He was the son of Thomas Boyes who established a brick and
tile yard at Wombleton that same year. Richard married Elizabeth Petty at LaTortue, Quebec in 1829. They resided in the parish of St. Phillip until about 1835. Eventually the family settled at Beaver Meadows in Lacolle on lots 5 and 7 in the
4th concession of domain. Richard Boyce remained in Lacolle until his death in 1884 at age 99. He was burried in the Boyce family plot in the Jackson Cemetery at Beaver Meadows.1 HIST Various photos of Kirkdale and Wombleton 1995
