Uriah Brothers, a tailor by trade, came to Lacolle after 1843 by way of Missisquoi Bay and Montreal, the city where he likely met and married his wife Catherine. She apparently converted from a Catholic to a Methodist. Records show she was a
member of the Odelltown Methodist congregation during the last year of her life.
