Fishing at Wiley Point Lodge, May 19-25, 2001
|
My father in law, Vic Musgrave, was
kind enough to invite me along on his 20th fishing adventure in 21
years. The destination this time was Wiley Point Lodge on Lake
of the Woods, Ontario, Canada. We had a great time despite the finicky
smallies (smallmouth bass) and spurts of foul weather.
I flew out to St. Louis, and Vic and I drove the 1000 miles to Totem Lodge
on Lake of the Woods where we were boated out to our remote lodge.
We arrived, prepared our tackle, and headed off to fish!
Below are some photos we took during the trip. Click on them to see

Vic landed this monster Pike on the evening of
our arrival - a sign of things to come!
|
I landed this 36" Northern the next morning in
good ole' Joe's Bay!! Boy, what a big fish! This beautiful fish
earned a smooch!
|
Same old 36"-er, the spinner on my mangled buzz
bait still stuck in the net.

The big fish in the "booot".

Driving the booot back from Joe's Bay in the rain
for lunch. Catching big fish makes me happy!
|
Vic loves driving the booot in the rain, too!!!
|
Despite the frigid rain, we went jigging for walleye.
MY THUMB!!!
|
Here I stand on Mack Island (seriously!) where
we ate lunch one cool day.
|
Vic's first Muskallung (Muskie). Ain't it
cute!?
|
My first Muskie (we think). Almost as cute
as Victor's.
|
More to come!
