Cheryl and Tim came back from their Burgundy tour, laden with bottles of wine. They were happy to discover the Parisian sites on their own as Thuy was busy with her French course and an upcoming exam. Having met Cheryl and Tim before, Julien got to know them better and enthusiastically shared with them his interest in French cuisine and French wine. On the weekend the two couples set out to visit the Château de Fontainebleau just south-east of Paris. The highlight during Cheryl and Tim's visit was the night when Tim cooked a five star meal, starting with a goat cheese salad, magret de canard in blackberry sauce with potato gratin and Hediard chocolate éclairs, all accompanied by bottles of Burgundy crémant and wine. Yummmmm.....Cheryl, you and Tim are welcome to our place anytime!!!

Then in early September Kathryn, on her way to Prague, made a stop-over at Hotel ThuyJulien for a few days. Having already been to Paris several times, Kathryn did not feel the need to play tourist and instead hung out in the non-touristic, but trendy areas of Paris: dinner on Rue Oberkampf Thursday night, Chinese food and dancing in Chinatown with Thuy's Vietnamese friends Friday night and dinner in the Bastille area Saturday night. She got her art fix at the Rodin and Picasso museums and went looking in vain for boots and new pants. Better luck in Prague?
