Genesis 2:24; Song of Songs 8:6-7;
1 Corinthians 13; Ephesians 5:22-23; Galatians 5:14
The day we wed, our vows were said, our lives were joined forever.
God’s perfect love was given us to bind our hearts together.
Two became one, new life had begun, the Father’s gift to treasure
in sickness and health, want or wealth, through labor, rest or pleasure.
Blossoms in spring, summer’s flowers, autumn leaves ever falling,
winter’s cold and windy days, earth’s sleep and rest and sighing;
through the circles of life, a husband and wife have many ups and downs.
God’s gracious love carries them through as they ride life’s “merry-go-round.”
And it’s love and devotion, faithfulness, trust, patience, truth and kindness,
hope and friendship, caring and sharing, giving comfort and courage that blesses.
Obeying the Father, trusting in Jesus taking Him as Savior and Master,
puts things in perspective, providing a way to live happily ever after.
Loving the Father, salvation in Jesus, love of a husband and wife
give strength and hope and blessings of joy that will carry us all through life.
Heavenly Father, thank you today for the one you chose to be mine.
We’ll abide together in Your precious love through eternity, not just for time.
For my husband, Don McCracken,
God’s special gift to me.
