There is a joy within my soul
that bubbles up without control.
There is a joy known just to me;
it has to do with victory!
For me my Savior bled and died;
on cruel cross was crucified.
His body placed in cold dark tomb,
the world had placed Him in a womb.
Then with the rising of the sun
victory over death was won.
God had done as He had said!
Christ was risen from the dead!
In my heart and head a song
goes with me singing all day long.
Sometimes it says “Love Lifted Me,”
sometimes “Was Blind But Now I See.”
And always, always “At The Cross,”
for that is where my sin was lost
when Jesus paid the price for me
upon the cross of Calvary.
I’ve taken Jesus to my heart
and from my Lord I’ll n’er depart.
Naught can take me from His hand;
not evil spirit nor evil man.
For I am living in His grace
and it is such a sacred place.
Christ be with me while I’m here;
when He calls I’ll know no fear.
Upward to my home I’ll go
to be with God Whom I love so;
and in that choir I’ll truly sing
“Alleluia! Christ The King!!”
