Hope and Assurance

We tried to find a salvation plan pamphlet that is very easy to understand, as brief as possible, and yet complete, since most of the nursing home friends to whom we witness are in various degrees of dementia. After much searching without success we decided to write the pamphlet you see below. We believe it provides an easy to understand roadmap, for those who are able and willing, with an opportunity to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. Furthermore, it affords those who have already experienced biblical salvation a greater sense of security and divine assurance during their various states of illness and depression.

DO YOU KNOW FOR SURE THAT YOU ARE GOING TO HEAVEN?

Whether your answer is "yes" or "no" to the question above, it can only help you to sincerely consider the following so you can dedicate, or rededicate, your life now. When you die, what if God asks you why He should let you into Heaven - can you tell Him? What must you do to be sure that you will go to Heaven?

Over 2000 Bible prophecies have been fulfilled with 100% accuracy thus far, and no one has proven any part of the Bible's original text to be wrong; so you can believe 1 John 5: 13 when it says..."I write you this so that you may know that you have eternal life - you who believe in the Son of God."

The Bible says that you are accountable for the sins in your life - "There is no one righteous, not even one" (Romans 3: 10). Since God is righteous, He cannot have fellowship with anyone who violates His righteous character. To God even a bad thought or not helping a needy person is a sin and one sin in your life is one too many for God. Sin came between God and man, and "the wages of sin is death and hell" (Romans 6: 23). God solved the sin problem by sending His Son to live a perfect life. Jesus took your sins by dying a cruel death, and then God broke the barrier of death by resurrecting Jesus on the third day. So on Easter, or on any other day, we can say, "He is alive! He is not dead!"

SO HOW DO YOU GET TO HEAVEN?
  1. "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved" (Acts 16: 31).
  2. "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out" (Acts 3: 19).
Repentance is a change of attitude toward God through daily prayer and Bible study.
  3. This process happens because of the grace of God and your faith. "For it is by grace
you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God - not
by works, so that no one can boast" (Ephesians 2: 8-9).
To repent of your sins, trust Jesus as Savior and surrender to Him as Lord, pray this prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus,
I believe you are the Son of God, and you died on the cross to take away my sins and were raised from the dead. I turn from my sins and receive you as Savior and Lord.

In Jesus' Name,
Amen
