Aaron CobbettAaron Cobbett is the glamour photographer of choice for everyone from well-heeled drag stars and Times Square hustlers to top celebrities and show biz types. In 2000, he shot all the art for Queer as Folk.
One of Cobbett's big coups was shooting the Queer as Folk ad campaign in Toronto. Though Cobbett met and hung out with Hal Sparks (his favorite in the cast) he found the real pay dirt in the city's gay scene. "Canadian men are hot," he says. "They're just a lot rougher around the edges, less primped and plucked than New York men. They're a little shaggier." QAF Gang

Like any good student of foreign culture, Cobbett set aside plenty of time for extracurricular activities during the Queer as Folk shoot. "There's this one club up there called Remington's," Cobbett says, "which is a really, really awesome male stripper bar. One of my favorite video companies is located there. They do all these wrestling videos and stuff. And all these [wrestlers] come from this bar, so I got to meet some of them." Alas, those hoping for a glimpse of hot Mounties in sleeper holds will have to make the trek themselves. "I didn't photograph any of them," Cobbett explains sheepishly: "I was too busy!" A charmed life.
